Here are a couple of pics of Igor and Ivan's new habitat.
Its an exo terra 60x45x40. I thinks its ideal - I like the way the doors open outwards so no problems with a snail stuck on the doors when you want to get in! They've got a big wooden bowl (cheap from Dunelm) as a burying tub full of humus and a 99p fern from Tescos sunk in for a bit of greenery. Disposable bamboo tray for their moss, a coconut shell house, capillary mat floor. The background is polystyrene, have had to put my heat mat under the tank because it was stopping the heat coming in otherwise but I wanted to keep the background as it looks nice and natural. The viv has a special raised floor for mounting a heat mat underneath so it doesn't overheat anyway - the snails don't seem to mind the warm floor and their food, burying pots etc are off the mat anyway.
Here's a close up of Igor on the left and Ivan on the right - Igor has really fattened up now - piggy - lots of new shell growth since I got them as well. ;D
Think I might get some more foliage in there to make it more natural, the heat mat seems to keep the temperature up OK so far but might try supplementing with a red lamp in a zoo med holder over the top mesh at some point. The mesh top is great for ventilation and seems to keep the humidity fairly well without covering - seems to stay around 95% without steaming up but I have some bubble wrap over the panels that I can take on and off to control it better.
Hope it looks OK to everyone - any suggestions to improve would be great - new to keeping tigers and want them to be happy little pigs!
