Hi,
I'm Lisa, I'm 25 yrs old and live in Billingham (Teesside Area). I'm new to keeping snails.
I never really bothered with snails when i was younger, but my 4 year old daughter is a creepy crawly fan, and wants to keep anything she can find from spiders to ladybirds, woodlouse to snails. So when she came home one day from her Nana's with a little box which had a garden snail in i was quite mortified, but allowed her to keep it so long as i didn't have to touch it.
Then one day whilst she had little Pixie out she decided she needed to go to the toilet and i was left holding the snail and thats when I realised that they were rather cute. After a week of looking after little Pixie my father mentioned GALs and i remembered seeing them in a pet shop he and my daughter frequent, so after a few sulks i agreed to let her have two.
On 31 march we picked up Pixie and Joe and brought them home with us, along with the tank and a bowl. They now have a slightly larger tank with cork bark and some plants in and seem as happy as can be.
We now have a baby Iredalei called Belle and 2 albino suturalis have just arrived (not named yet).
It looks like i have caught the Snail Bug.

Welcome LIsa! This snail-virus is really dangerous. Has caught me really deep and I am now homing around 20 different species here. Kind regards, Gabi
