Sam, females are generally larger than males, males also have two little things either side of their genital parts (i don't have a clue with words) the other way is to do it surgically :-)

You can sex a snake by several methods. One is by gauging of tail length. Male tails are usually noticeably longer remain thick along the first few inches to provide space for the hemipenis. Females are shorter and taper quickly. baby snakes can be popped, where the hemipenis is popped out, but this only proves that the snake is male , because just because no hemipenis comes out doesnt mean its not there! third option is probing. A metal rod is inserted down the cloaca tail length. if it only goes in a few scales deep the snake is female. If it goes in 7 or more scales deep its male.. I think the problem with kings and corns is overcome by putting two kings together then swopping the female king for a female corn just as mating is about to occur. I may be wrong on this thou as I have never done it myself lol Emma

Fabulous looking snake! I watched a program on TV about Kingsnakes and it was showing them hunting and killing other snakes so I imagine breeding must be difficult? Brian.
