They seem very easy to maintain, i bought them from a petshop originally, they were very skinny and were kept in a crowded tank with other species as you can see in the 4th pic up, Sid has a swollen mouth, this is because he had a broken jaw when i bought him and a couple of months ago the bone broke off completely so now the flesh is a little swollen and his tongue sticks out, but as far as i know he is not in pain, hes very active and loves his food which really surprised me! :-) I don't use a pump, just give regular water changes about once a month and they seem fine, they extremely active especially when tadpoles are on the menu, Nancy certainly goes mad, lol, and they are very friendly and recognise the hand that feeds them which is nice. As far as i know mine are both females, lol, i know i call one a he and his name is Sid, but thats what i thought when i bought them so it stuck, the males get a lovely blue/white/silver stripe on their tales in mating season :-) anyways i can always say Sid is short for Sidney ;D They adore their worms and tadpoles, also like bloodwroms, thats about all they've eaten for now although i hope to get them some waxworms at some stage
