I have heard that some people have put the tub of eggs on top of a Sky box or similar to provide gentle heat - that might help until you can get a heat mat?

i suppose i could, but then moving them might mean even less chance of them hatching...i dont know what to do...if i got a heat mat now then that would mean a sudden change of temperature and so they might not hatch then either...

I decided to crack one of the eggs open and look what was inside (I'd rather sacrifice one than not know whether there's any chance of them hatching), and there was an embryo inside! it was small, under 10mm, so they're growing slowly, probably because it's not that warm, but it gives me hope that I can have some hatchlings. I haven't moved the tank at all since the eggs were laid, so that must be why these are growing but the previous batch never started. So yeh I'm very pleased ;D

there are more eggs in one of their pneumostomes. Surely I must be able to get some babies from all this ;D
