Hi every1 The name is Shannon and I am currently babysitting 2 fulica and their 60 babies. The owner is a member of this forum and has got me addicted to giant snails. I will soon be setting up my own tank and look forward to hearing from everyone for advice on the best way to keep them, how many to put in a tank, etc. ;D

I can't wait it- there is so much I want to put in it, I don't think I'll have enough room for the snails

Oh, that is quite cunning of someone - ask you to babysit snail babies and let you fall in love with them just as they need new homes! Welcome.

They were the class pets for my little boys class this last year so I've been intrigued by them for a while. I just didn't realise you could sit and watch them for so long. Am I sad?

Nope, just hooked, lol . I spend about six hours a day on watching my guys. I love the way the interact with each other, and watching their foot ripple as they go along the tank wall. It might sound strange to some but they are almost, graceful, the way the move about slowly, taking their time.

No, they are quite hypnotic - it's not just you I'm required to be fairly sedentary and both snails and fish share the burden of keeping me occupied. Can watch both indefinitely!

I know what you mean. Everyone who comes to my house gets the snail tanks shoved under their noses until they agree with me that they're cute. ;D ;D The baby ones are not quite 1cm long yet but they are just so sweet- and how far they can travel is amazing.
