Hi I have four 5 year old GALS (fulica). Over the last week one of them has been staying in it's shell for a lot longer that normal. Thought it had retracted so have been coaxing it out by spraying it. Comes out for a while then goes back in again, not eating a huge amount. However, today he has come out to eat (yay!) and on his body I can see a kind of white mark and next to it is something that looks a bit like a boil but can't be sure this is what it is. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with him? Have trawled the internet but can't find any answers. Not sure what best to do for him. Could it be an injury or some kind of infection? Has anyone come across this before? Would be really grateful for any advice you can give me. Many many thanks...

Where abouts on his body was the white bit? its quite possible that this could just be his ... um ... male sex organ. Its good that he is eating. Is the temperature ok? and are you spraying 2s a day

where on the body is the mark? sounds kinda like he might have been feeling, ahem, frisky. he may be ill, but sometimes snails spend more time in their shells if they are carrying eggs (well mine do anyway). do you know if the snails mate?
