hi, i'm sorry about your snail. does the area where the eye comes out look swollen or discoloured? was it coming out ok before the fall?

yes it was fine before he fell, also on the left side the small bit that comes out ( not sure what its called!) is also in, & not coming 'out' as it should. the right side is ok.
There is not swelling, bumps or coloured marks at all. he isnt growing as fast as the other, but the other may just be greedy!
i will take a photo if i can thanks x

So the left eye isn't coming out at all anymore? Maybe the nerve got damaged in the fall. A photo would help, if possible.
Hopefully the problem will heal by itself. Good luck with your snail.

Hi Figurinha, welcome! Thanks for posting the pics of your snails. That eyestalk problem looks very peculiar. It looks almost like a little crater in the snail's head where the eyestalk should come out. I imagine there could be several different causes for the problem -- injury, infection, genetic problem, something toxic affecting the nerve to that eye, etc. Is your snail otherwise healthy? Is he eating and acting normally?

uow its a promess, i dont cut the eyestalk, but the little crater is really in the head of my snail heuehue. I dont know what really happened, but, i suspect the problem is a Injury. The Lovely snail oblongus is eating very, very well, and don't have signs of another problens, I get some new pics of his eye, but this time we can see the eyestalk(seens to be injuried hun? take a look in this): thanks for all coyote i'm praying for the snail eye

Yes, i can see the right eye looks different and not right, theres nothing you can do but leave it to him, give him plenty of food and enough cuttlefish and just see how it goes, because its not your fault if she/he has fallen and maybe damaged the nerve or if its damaged its just one of those things, i hope he'll be ok for you. Goodluck! Jas x

It seems to be getting better -- this is a good sign! It's good to know that recovery is possible. I hope your snail continues to improve.

i suppose accidents like this with snails is a bit like a human getting a good punch over his/her face injuring the eye it stays swollen and maybe shut for some time. As long as your snail is eating and so im sure hell be allright ^^

i have had this problem with my reticulata's often swloen eye stalk or not coming out too far, then the snail is out and active i was them and around the eye thats injured or the ara i gently rub it as mine dont mind me touching them and rubbing them down they are used to it and a day or so its okay its often soil on the eye or stalk and they put there eye back in quick and the soil stays with it i guess its irritating, this could be the problem, hope he's okay. zoe
