I've just found a baby Limax Maxius in one of my european snail tanks, must have gotten in there as an egg in the roots of some plant... I've put him in a separate container untill he can be released or that I've found another home for him as I wont be able to keep him.
Problem is I've always keept snails but never any slugs, how do I care for him? Anyone on here with experience of slugs who can give me any pointers? If slugs now they differ from snails in their maintenance..
Anyone who knows if Limax Maxius is predatory, by the way?

U care it like snail, it needs calsium too, but not as much that snail. They have only lil bit calsium "flap" under their skin. Slugs r snail but with rudiment shell, what remainings r under it's skin. Slugs usually eats dead slugs and maybe others eggs. Mostly slugs eat rotten leafs and other plants, but they eat too fresh veggies like snails. Slugs sometimes like to eat mushrooms for protein. In nature slugs get their calsium from old leafs what tree has dropped on ground. Only bad thing about slugs as pets u never know how old they r my slug lived only 1 to 2 months in my care. Depent of slugs they can live 2 to 3 years.

I've seen slugs in the wild eating dead snails, in addition to rotting vegetation (and some fresh vegetation as well).

Thanks for the link, i kept the baby Limax Maxius in small plastic container with potting soil and some bark to hide under and i used some fine textile on the airholes. he ate both cucumber and romaine lettuce however he was released into the wild once it got warm enough for him.
