Snails can get worms, yes. I don't know exactly, but i think what you have to do to get wrid of them is give the tank a thorough clean out, and feed the snails some hemp seed (?) or it might be pumpkin seed (?) i don't know which one. I'm sure someone will correct me though

Just looked it up, its organic Pumpkin seeds that you need. You can put them in the tank whole, or grind them up, and wait for the snails to eat them. This should flush the worms out. x

Every couple of weeks I put one or two whole pumpkin seed in my tank, and the snails rasp away on them little by little. I keep small snails, so it should be even easier for a GALS to rasp a whole seed. You may need more than just a couple.

Garlic and figs can also be used as deworming agents if your snails will refuse the pumkin seeds, which some snails do. It's good to repeat the procedure a couple of times to make sure the worms are gone. They seem to be quite hardy so it can take a while to get rid of them completly, also the snails can be reinfefcted by worms moving around in the tank.
Sometimes what apear as worms can be larvae from fruit flies as they can be found munching on the snails excrements.
