improvements ;D . I took a pair of sterilized disecting tweezers to her to try and remove the coir from the mess, i realised i could pluck bits of the yellowystuff off too and she didnt care or retract (shes such a good girl!) i managed to pull a HUGE lump off from the eyestalk area and *pop* her eyestalk comes out, obviouly i've only eliviated the symptoms i dont know what the problem is but now atleast i tlooks like it might only be the mucus! some infection fungal or bacterial i guess.... its very reminiscent of human phelgm during a very very bad cold and much more viscus almost solid ewwww. but atleast its not as bad as i thought it was but i still need to fix the problem! any good and safe antifungals or antibacterials you can recommend? tea tree?

the "cheese-like" thing really look terrible! fortunately she's fine now, she's so pretty *envy*
i dont use antifungals or antibacterials, btw, do you remove eaten food & clean the tank frequently?

you should see her when shes 100% she is perfect! i remove uneaten food regulary as for cleaning the tank i wipe down the sides etc and remove poo but only fully clean and microwave substrate about once a month - being too clean can upset the snails. there's still the problem of the goo i rekon there is some sort of infection in her mucus either bacterial or fungal...

Wow, I'm impressed that you had the steady nerves to undertake removing that stuff! And I'm so glad her eyestalk is okay! Have you looked at the gunk under a hand lens or microscope? That might help narrow down what it is.

i really wish i had looked at it under the microscope. Several people on supersnails think it could be mating goop, i never considered that at her young age. she seems well and has eaten a lot but i'm still being careful and shes still isolated for now... just incase its something else.

That she's eating is a good sign. Keep an eye on her, and hopefully she will be ok.
