I have previously posted about the fulicas I bought being unhappy, well now it's worse. I received 5 about 6 months old, and there were also 4 babies in with them, have tried everything to make them happy and more active but hasn't worked, 2 of the larger ones seemed fine so separated them into another tank, but of the other 3 larger ones and 4 babies I've lost 3 babies and 1 of the bigger ones.
I've now come to the conclusion that it can't be how I'm keeping them as my other snails are fine and even my first 2 fulicas that are coming up to 4 months old are fine with the other 2 large ones I separated from the others.
So is it possible they were sent to me ill? or something in the post happened? they have all been eating which has thrown everything until the day before they die they won't come out and eat. I was looking at the remaining ones last night and even though they are eating they do seem skinny? One of the large ones did seem a little more active last night and the remaining baby is doing well which I'm currently putting down to eating a seed mix from dusk, I am now trying to get the remaining illish one to eat some of it I've tried giving it dry and in mash form hopefully he will try it at some point, but has anyone got any ideas what could be causing this? I am washing my hands in between dealing with snails (luckily have done this since I got them or who knows if they have got something wrong with them it could have spread to my tigers retics my margie and my albino fulicas)
There is no signs of mites and have been through the section on the main website along with other websites but I'm stumped dont want to lose anymore
