Welcome Snailkid well they will breed when they feel comfy enough. I think you mean Helix Aspersa Snails? like these well can you tell us more about your setup? what substrate do u have? what temperature do you keep it, and what do you feed them?

Once they are old enough to reproduce and when the tank conditions are optimal for them, they will begin breeding.

Hi @ll, by the way, that picture of Helix aspersa (actually it is Cornu aspersum...) is quite nice, you can (I think) even see a love dart right of the lower snail's foot. I have got a picture of a Cornu aspersum, which got even hit by two of those... One, I think, is of a Cepaea nemoralis... Picture: Robert NordsieckKind regards Robert

Interesting that the aspersum has a nemoralis love dart.
I have seen O. lacteas courting aspersas in my tank. I also witnessed a lactea and a T. pisana in the act of mating. (No eggs resulted, though.) I have not seen any love darts in my own snails, however.
I have always wondered about the likelihood of closely-related species cross-breeding. The fact that these snails seem to be willing and able to interact with each other romantically makes me think it might be possible. Although, in the wild where these species occur together, no known hybrid offspring have been observed, to my knowledge. So perhaps it is not so possible after all.
