cleaning my baby snails out this morning and I accidentally broke a piece of the soft shell on one of them! they were born in june so are still fragile is there anything I can do apart from just keep an eye on him please thanks?

Make sure they have plenty of calcium available in the tank, and maybe add some liquid calcium to the water you spray them with. As long as it's near the shell entrance and it's not hugely damaged, he should be fine to repair it himself - their shells are pretty resilient when they're young, it's fairly common for them to break/damage the soft new growth I think.

If the damage is only at the edge of the house, your snail will repair that by itself really fast. You will be surprised how soon you won't see anything anymore, besides a little "scar" maybe.

he seems very happy I have added more cuttlefish, and have powdered it on their lettuce x

I received 2 albino retics on monday and one had knocked a chunk out of the edge of his shell, and within a couple of days you can't even tell, I spray with calcium in water bottle and gave him a bath in water and calcium and have loads of cuttle fish in the tank

It is amazing how well and fast snails can heal damage to the newest edge of their shell.
