My tank has loads of little tiny bugs crawling all over everything. They're minute (you can barely see them until you look really really closely. I think they might fly, but generally I think they just crawl/jump.
They seem to be over most surfaces including the food, the snails' shells and even on their bodies.
They don't appear to be causing the snails any discomfort (in fact in the last couple of weeks they've started laying eggs and I take that as meaning they're fairly happy?!
I wonder if the plant I have growing in there has caused/encourages the infestation (it's a peace lily that's been in their months now and the snails seem to like).
Basically what I wasn't to know is whether anyone thinks the bugs may be causing discomfort to the snails or if there is any danger of having them in there?

The most likely possibility is mites, which you want to get rid of ass oon as possible. Can you see what colour they are? They can cause problems even if your snails appear to be in good health.

hmmm, they're blackish/grey/brown i think. sorry to be so vague, they're just so tiny! i think they could be springtails from that info - it's so hard to tell though because of the size!
sounds like i could really do with identifying them though as it seems to make a big difference what they're are.....
