Recently I've noticed my snails having very watery poo (they do like to put it on the walls and the ceiling) and was wondering if anyone knew why this might be. I have two young retics and a fulica. All three are active and eating... and still trying to sit on each other >_> But all three seem to be affected.
I feed them a variety of different things every day, usually choosing a few from the following;
cucumber
lettuce (little gem, leafy)
courgette
sweet potato
various squashes
carrot
tomato
red pepper
They also have a treat of fish flakes or seed mush once a week (hemp, sunflower, sesame, pumpkin... still working on the perfect combo) as well as a splash of pumpkin seeds thrown into the tank once a month.
Humidity sits around 82 and temp around 23.
They have access to cuttle, which they devour readily and I put a few drops of liquid calc in their spray bottle on every other refill. They also have access to a water bowl.
They have a UV lamp sealed off from them by wire mesh (not that it gets any hotter than one of the heat mats). It's there to provide a noticeable 'day' as much as it is there to provide vit D. Scotland... this time of year; we're lucky if we even see the sun. It's not even 2pm and it's sinking behind the houses over the road.
Aaaanyway...
So, any ideas? As I say; they're all active and eating so I'm not too worried just yet. It's better to prevent problem early on though.
