sorry the quality is bad. He had swollen mouth for a few days, which he has had before and has recovered from. This morning I discovered this weird bubble looking thing. Is it gut extrusion? Attachments:

It's very difficult to tell from that picture, but it does seem like it's swollen mouth or even actual gut extrusion. There are some pics of gut extrusion here: petsnails.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=pests&action=display&thread=7692If this is what's happening with your snail, I am so sorry. I am glad to hear that your snail has recovered from swollen mouth, and I really hope that is what's happening here and that he can recover from this as well.

thankyou coyote. that looks exactly the same as what Mr Snail has that means he's gonna die, right? if he's survived swollen mouth though, maybe he can survive through this?!

Gut extrusion is fatal. Swollen mouth is not necessarily fatal, though (although my experience with snails with swollen mouth is that they didn't recover and had to be euthanized).
If your snail has gut extrusion, it's my understanding that the process of extrusion kills the snail. If your snail is still alive, I don't see how it could be bona fide gut extrusion.
Whatever your snail has, I hope he pulls through and recovers completely. *fingers crossed*

I'm so sorry for your loss. This is one of those things that we have so little control over. There is really nothing that can be done in a case like this to make it turn out any differently.
Rest in peace, Mr Snail.
