;)I have heard from some of you that you like to make your habitat look as natural as it can. Well what i suggest is find small or large rocks that cant fall and wash them then put them in your habitat. I wouldn't use real plants. Cut of some branches and pour boiled water over them or freeze them. Now you have the Forest type of habitat. If your still not satisfied maby add some frozen soil (defrost it). If you don't like the idea of branches maby make some clay ones and maby add a clay tree!

I would not put in my snail tanks any rocks or ceramics even small snail that hits in "right" angle in to rock shell would get nasty damage. Yes I know I have ceramic drinking dispenser but it has round it very much soil and it will soften up possible falling. Some people stuff their tanks full of everything then theres not much space snails to land if they fall down and if tank is full of everything it harder to clean when you need to first take everything out then you can do the cleaning. I'm thinking that when I got custom build tank it's going to be really dark looking, so I think make some kind of living background to it and fasten some "pots" made from bamboo there and plant some vines in there.. I'm thinking maybe it's easier make one big long "gutter" from bamboo, fasten it to almost roof level and plant vines in so it will cover most of back wall and all that black walls would not then "suck" all the light in that dark material. I like plants in tank they clean air too. I planning to buy loads of plants in reasonable limits so terrarium would not be too stuffed up but would not look empty neither and snails get hiding and sleeping places during day time. Terrarium is going to be big and one detail in our living room so I better make it looks awesome!

Good luck with your 'future tank' I have decided to make it as natural as posible is that i have added a bance which is safe and light so if it does fall it cant harm snails. I am going to make a shallow clay pond next time i go to my nanas and maby even make a cliff/rock. The rest is natural i have colected rain water then sprinkled it in the tanks and in the Cepea's tank they have a W forked tree branch which is light. And i shall add a few pebbles or a rock. PS: Does anyone know a type of fast growing plant that grows on rocks so if the Cepea's do fall onto the rock stone or whatever the rock thing is they will have a less likley chance to Cause a death?

Well I dont think you can plant anything on the rocks, but you can place some moss on it, either if you buy moss or collect it from outside. Cause that should dampen a possible fall.

If you plant ivy in the tank, it will spread to cover the rocks eventually.

Ah, think know what you mean. It's one kind of bonsai style. You plant first under plants root small rock as hill. Plant needs to be wood stemmed. Then when tree grows you change bigger and bigger stone under roots till you get this look. fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiedosto:BonsaiTridentMaple.jpg Really cool. My terrarium is soon ready dad test assembles it with me and them we start to put part togetter. I'm so excited. Have to just find something nice as plant pots something long so I can put some vines on it. I think I need to make changes to waterfall I got 2chunky fulicas I don't want put any rock waterfall in terrarium. Big fulicas weights over 200grams maybe I'm not sure yet. Maybe use one brown plastic from chocolate box and change it shape with heat and it would look then natural kind of like rock. Have to start to think about what kind of I'm going to build.

I have had melted accidently some plastic bowl for for getting them near to stoves air hole which blows steams out. I noticed if plastic gets heated more than just to that point it bend it can lost it's shine. But I think I make water run down from it so water make it look shine so don't need to add varnish.
I have to find at home some like pump bottle and take that part of it where lotion comes out so it's easier to aim where you want to water come out. Than have bending rubber hose inside of structure. I have to just start to think how I'm going to warm plastic..

I'd put it in a microwave for a bit then mould it, that way it wont turn black like it would under an open flame, love the idea though think i'll try it!

I don't use use microwave, I think when you would like shape it to fit on some specific container you don have too much of control of result and I would make me mad if I had to start finding something where to get some more of that plastic try again. I had to put tubes inside of structure It would not look nice if you see too much of tube. Once snails wet tank really bad and I have to anyway cut most of tube aways so humidity don't go too high. I red somewhere that plastic has to really carefully warm up to point it bends if too much it set on fire if you need to use some other heat source than microwave.
