I have put a light in my margies tank that is on a timer. It is on for 10hours per day. The margies are usually very active but when the light comes on they go to sleep [or hide ] and then as soon as it goes off they come out again. The light is only 8w so it's not very bright and it produces little to no heat. The idea was to get them into a day/night cycle. I was wondering if anyone else uses a similar setup and if so how do your snails react to the light? Brian. ;D

I don't use anything special. It seems that all except my big Margie and Iredalei (be it from light hating or from lazyness) come out whether it's day or night! Of course they are more active and "faster" at night, but I have seen them out while there's still been some daylight coming in and my lights (as rubbish as they are) have still been on.
Of course if I spray them they'll come out asap lol. 'Cept the big margie who take about half an hour ;D (on a good day rofl)

Yeah they are not to keen on the light (sensative) so they come out at night, so when you turn the light on they hide from it, but it warms the tank up, then when you turn it of it is warm and dark, the perfect time for snails to come out :-)
