I would say it's been a tie between Stella (whatever she is), Curly Bob (margie) and the albino retis, although the retis haven't been here very long and will most likely end up taking the medal if they continue growing like weeds.
I think Lisa's fulica Cooper HAS to win this "competition" though - he's now the size of a Mini Cooper *pmsl*.

My margie ovum babies that were rehomed earlier in the year win hands down, followed by my smithiis/pantheras who went to Tigs, and more recently Rocko the fulica

my fastest growing snails are probably my immaculata (smithii/panthera ones) or my normal body colour reticulata, my albino reticulata are growing more slowly for some reason, though they are growing much more recently.

Excuse me for asking but I've not been able to find the answer anywhere - how long does it take for a reti or margi to grow to adult size (12 to 16cms shell). Would a growth rate of 1cm per month be about right? Also, at what point would a baby be reclassed as an adult?
Thanks, Ali.

That really depends on the conditions:temperature, humidity, diet etc.1 cm a month is certainly possible. I think(but I could be wrong)a snail is adult when the edge(lip) of the shell gets thicker.

For further info, I've found the following: The measurements were taken every 10 days, between August 1999 and April 2000. They are average sizes of ten random chosen snails (Achatinas, subspecies not stated) I grabbed this chart from the web archive, it is originally from www.achatina.ru which is a site presently suspended. The archived page may be viewed by going to: web.archive.org/web/20050829034629/achatina.ru/Life/Rost-En.htmAli.
