I have quite a few baby fulicas which are about a month old or so now.
What determines their size difference? The differences between them are SO vast that surely it can't just be to do with the fact some hatched a day or two later than others.
Is it down to how much cuttlebone they eat? How much food they eat? Their individual genes?
Some are five times the size of their siblings!

I have often wondered this myself, it isn't just fulica, you can also get this big size difference with other species, personally I think it has to be their individual genes.
