Firstly I apologise if this post is in the wrong place, Ive looked up and down the board and just couldnt decide where to put it!
How can I tell how old my new snails are?
They have been sold to me as Giant African Land Snails and there shells measure approx 9 cm currently.
Ive read that they can grow a cm per month, is this true? and if so are mine about 9 months old? or is growth faster when young?
TIA
Clare.

Unless you have had your snails as babies from captive bred adults and know when they hatched, there is no way of telling your snails age. You could own large youngsters or small adults as they all grow at different rates and often end up as different sized adult snails, some of them grow rapidly when young but others are slower, sorry I can't be more specific as to their age. I had a feeling that it would be more complicated!
Thank you!
