Sorry to bring this subject up, feel free to delete if the mod think I am out of order.
I have bought some megas on ebay, just like some of you. I know copigeon have said all she has known on that thread in the classified forum before and eventually megaman has posted a post on that megas thread to assure that he is trustable.
Now the time is here, I think most of you have got that message through ebay from megaman letting us know that he is going to Trinidad this week (4th - 12th) and expecting the payment next Monday and he will send out the snails on 16th or sometimes that week. Okay, this sounds very easy smooth transaction and seems okay.
As I still not 100% trusted the seller (well sorry, but with him on ebay only for such a short time, and the a/c has been suspended, even for a short time, although he has told us it's because of what his work got his a/c suspended, that is only his side of the story) I sent a cheque by recorded post on Wed, to make enough time for the postman to deliver the mail to him. I have written to him since then, no reply. I know he flied out on 4th, so I have given myself a reason that he has not checked his emails before that (even given him 2 more days before flying out. )
The problem is my trust has rocked again, as I got email from another member, letting me know that another member does not trust this megaman because of all the stories "this member" heard about the record this megaman not delivering. So I am wondering how all those who are going to send payment think? I know I should not rock the boat, but I just want to have your opinion about it.
I suppose it's because of the experiences I got in the past. Even I got treated badly by a few regular members on this board before and I thought I know them and it wouldn't have any problems. Therefore I cannot help this if I heard more bad stories about this megaman. I know a few members have received the snails from megaman before, but the amount of those snails compare with what we ordered this time is a lot less. Not saying he is not trustable, I just want some assuring if you get me. Scammers usually are good for the start and then when they got that little trust, they just take the whole lot and run away. I don't want to act like Big Brother checking on him, like phoning his work or find out about the address he asked the money to send to.
All I want to say is, with the stories I heard, I cannot trust him completely again. I am helping friends to buy these snails, so it's a lot of money involved here. I just want to see how you all feel that's all. At least I know if I should cancel the cheque and start again when he gets back or not. That's all I ask.
Thank you.

im not sure as i dont know anything about the situation, but if he is already gone to buy the snails then I would cancel the cheque until he confirms that he has got them. Esp. if there is a lot of money involved. Sorry Im no help but I really dont know!!!

Sam, thanks for you reply. Appreciate that even you probably don't know what's going on. But you have given me your point of view.
A few members have PM'd me and I appreciated your point of view too. And I will not mention any names because I am not one of those create Chinese gossiping threads people. I will keep everything confidential. I put up a thread is for one simple reason. I just need to know what I should do, after all there's a lot of money involve in here, not just my own money but my friends'.
I am sorry if I have rocked the boat, which might be nothing. I just need to be a bit aware.

I'll be honest with you felix, Im not sure how to handle whats been said about Andrew mainly from people who go unamed from bugnation.
I have close to £100 riding on this, which is no small amount of money for myself at the moment also.
Recent experience dictates he is genuine, however, he does have a history which he hasnt been upfront about (I can understand why as its not pretty) and that history is whats come back to bite him with the current loss of trust.
I havent decided what to do yet. Its a confusing situation.

Andrew offers a COD service, which incurs a charge of about £40.
How many of us have ordered snails from Andrew on this forum?

I've ordered two but haven't send money yet because I'm hoping he'll have his PayPal account set up soon(I emailed him about this and he told me this:"Unfortunately this trip has come earlier than I expected so I am not ready for Pay pal just yet." Personally I always thought he could be trusted.Stories about a member hearing from another member who heard from yet another person ...I don't know what to make of that.

Thanks copigeon.
I was pretty okay after Andrew has posted on the board last time. But...with the email I got this morning, from one well respected member (I am sorry I am not going to name any if you don't mind), I am feeling a bit shaky again. That's why I asked the members on the board to see if I am the only one that feel like this. I honestly don't mean to make everyone feel that way.
My total is £211.00. Some of that money is mine and some of the money is my friends. I just don't want to help my good friends to loose their money because I am an honest person. I gain the trust from my friends not just overnight.
My decision is I will cancel the cheque if I can today / tomorrow morning. (Even I know I might have to pay for the bank charge.) I have decided to ask him to send me the snails first, then I will forward the payment to him via Special next day delivery. After all I have got enough ebay feedback to prove that I am honest, I pay whatever I get and don't have any negative feedback. And I am on PS long enough and there are regulars know me well that I do not con anybody. That is the only solution I can come up with atm.
Unless Andrew is willing to set up his Paypal a/c, then I will do that straight away. Setting up an a/c does not take 5 minutes except he has not got a bank a/c or address based in UK. We are talking about thousands pounds involve with this snails business.
I think some of us might want to not say anything, but if you check the auction, you can work out how much roughly that Andrew is going to get. I am not saying that he is a scammer, but you know with what's happened on BN not long ago, there's only one member received the snails, and that member was being called a liar and all kind, which is not very nice.

I have two ordered.
Life would be so much easier if he set up his Paypal account. At least then we could send the payment and have some backup if they didnt arrive.
Accounts are soo easy to arrange now - Wonder why he hasnt? If its the charges then i am more then willing to add 5% for the peace of mind

Felix I had experience with cheque cancelling this month, if you tell the bank it was lost in the post they wont charge you. Any other reason and they charge you £10 (thats lloyds tsb) dont ask me why its extortion. But just say you posted a cheque it hasnt arrived and would like to cancel it due to loss in post.

At least then we could send the payment and have some backup if they didnt arrive. Even with paypal nothing is guaranteed, I sent someone in Germany a lot of money with paypal for inverts, they never came, I put in a claim with paypal, and won, but since they had no money in theyre account I didnt get any of it back.

I might see if I can get Andrew to deliver both mine and another members snails COD for £40. And then post the other members snails to them.
If anyone else would be interested in this sort of solution, pm me, and I'll email Andrew regarding it.
No promises, it would involve splitting that £40 delivery charge each way + rm postage but it would take away an element of risk,

Personally I always thought he could be trusted.Stories about a member hearing from another member who heard from yet another person ...I don't know what to make of that. That's what I thought. But the storites I heard from are from well respected members on the board, not some kind of newbies. I don't mean to rock the boat and make up anything to feel that you cannot trust Andrew, but I really don't know which direction I should go. With his ebay a/c record, I am sorry to say I cannot say I can trust him 100%, despite whatever qualification or whatever job he has got. Not being nasty, but it's just something he chooses to tell us.

We should also remember that we have already shown him trust by sending deposits.

Ok, need just 2 more people interested in my above post. I cant afford to do this for masses of snails as its too labour intensive but can manage 2 more.
I'll email Andrew tonight regarding it to see what he says.

Copigeon. This is just a suggestion, if anyone trust me, I would do this to help out. I know there will be a lot of work involve, but I started the thread, so I should take all the responsibilities to sort that out. I have helpers to help me with my own online shop, so they can help me to pack snails instead. LOL! Of course it's up to everybody and you.

PM'd back to you. ;D
I can offer if any members who have ordered the snails, we can group together (or whoever want to) and send one big payment to Andrew, and then ask him to just send them all to me (if I can be trusted) and I am willing to take on any payment through Paypal and forward the snails to whoever want to using Special next day delivery. I am used to have big orders with my own online shop, so I am willing to do this.
Only problem is I don't know this Andrew, I have only commuincated with him through ebay but I always only got a few words as reply. So that commuication is a bit awkard.

I have two ordered. I think copigeons idea of COD is a good one, I understand completely how you feel felix, I think all of us who have ordered from Andrew feel that we are taking a risk but some definitely more than others depending on how much money is actually involved. I think in your position I would be very cautious the same as you are because as you say some of the money you are sending is for friends of yours. A very tricky situation Val

Thanks Val.
I suppose if I am the seller with the record on ebay, I don't expect others will trust me straight away. Trust does not happen overnight IMO.
If Andrew replied back to copigeon and agrees, I am willing to take on the duty and ask him to ship the snails / worms to me, then I will pay up front (COD) as long as everything is okay, snails / velvet worms are healthy.
We are just have to wait and see.
Once again I am sorry I brought up this subject, I just need to make sure what decision I should make, not just for myself, but for my friends too.

I posted my cheque yesterday for my two snails. I've not been on in a while what is the 'gen' about Andrew?? I only ordered two as everyone said he was a straight up bloke and had dealt with him before.
Just thought as well. we have his address so if he was ripping us off then we could report him to the police and they would have to do something about him. Wouldn't they??
I must admit at the moment I'm not too worried as he seems to have been OK with regards to replying to my emails and keeping me informed about everything.
I hope I'm not too trusting tho' 'cos I have been known to be in the past.
