How do you know when a snail has died? i know itsnot a nice thing but i thouight i better find out! Next time please read through threads ect on the forum and have a look on the website before you ask a question. But since you asked, they're usually unresponsive and smell horrible, it actually makes your nose hurt.

sorry I thought my snail may have died and i didn't really have time to look through as I was worrying but he doesn't smell so I think he's hibernating
Thankyou.

sorry I thought my snail may have died and i didn't really have time to look through as I was worrying but he doesn't smell so I think he's hibernating Thankyou. When hibernating they have a rather calacorous film covering the aperture (opening) of their shell. There's other threads in the pest, illness and disease section with how to wake them up and various ways of finding out what's wrong. A link to the website is at the top of the forum if you want to have a look.

Thanks I woke him up and he's now happily munching on some tomatos!
Thankyou for your help. Sorry for the bother I was just in a panic earlier.
