Are snails bothered by loud noises like something an alarm clock would make? I got rid of my nightstand and replaced it with somethingvone of the tanks can fit on. It has a cubby hole underneath where i could put my alarm clock but wanted to see if anyone knew if that could possibly bother them.

Snails don't have hearing sence at all.. They can sence vibration of "ground" example if you accedently drop something on terrarium and terrarium virates little that they can sence. They don't mind of sound because they can't hear them.

I doubt a snail would be bothered by the sound of an alarm clock, unless it made the furniture vibrate. And I really hope your alarm clock isn't so loud that it makes your furniture vibrate!

They must hear voice vibrations, as my biggest Pegasus whenever my dad speaks he ALWAYS turns to the source of the voice and stretches out.
If i swap where im standing to to do other things he still turns to my dads voice.

Interesting, I've never heard of a snail responding that way to a voice.

Snails cannot hear, they won't be bothered by noise as such, but an alarm clock may (or may not) send vibrations through the glass of the tank, causing a disturbance to the snails. As for whether or not this would be irritating to the snail is not certain. It's likely that they would respond posisively to certain vibrations, and have a stress/fright response to others.

Snails cannot hear, but they might sense vibration if it is loud and/or close enough ....

well from what lots of people have said and my own understanding snails 'listen' with vibrating so unless you put them right next to the alarm clock it's not a problem

My two biggest ones ( Albopicta and Reticulata ) turn to voices too. I know they definitely can't hear me but my theory is that they sense the sound vibrations and the movement of the air. They are proven to be capable of associative learning so it is possible that they can 'smell' a particular person and are reacting in the same way that Goldfish and the like do when they come to the top of the water for certain people to feed them. I doubt VERY much that snails are remotely interested in alarm clocks though! They would have to get up pretty damn early to get anywhere so i reckon they aren't fans of early starts! lol
