Thanks, I've decided not to move them. When they get a little older I'll release most of them. Now just one more question. Do they... die... after mating? If they do, I'd probably cry for days, which ain't good, because my b-day is in like 1 day! And I haven't cleaned up the house tbh. D:

Hi,
I know this seems stupid, but, is rubber plant ok for snails? I think their sap is toxic... But snails might be immune somehow. I don't want Baffbot or Pickles getting poisoned because they're gonna have babies ^_^ (I don't want Penelope to be hurt either!) There's a rubber plant that hangs over the fence and it just seems so lush and green. And I'm talking about Ficus Elastica.
Please reply soon, as I need to give them more food!
Thanks, geckonator <3

Ty axo. Maybe I should just move Baffbot and Pickles until they lay. But I'm not too sure.

Thanks guys. I'm probably not gonna keep them all; I only really want a few. I'm gonna move the eggs if there are eggs into a smaller tank, but for my b-day I'm getting a metre long tank. Pickles is very beautiful, and baffbot is good too. I hope it'll make wonderful babies!
I'm going to get the other tank ready for bubbies, baby snails just make me squee! =3

Woo! Baffbot and Pickles, another of my snails, are MATING as I type! So, I woke up, all gross and slimy as I'm sick, and decided to check on my snails. Baffbot and Pickles were just standing there. On closer observation I saw them completely still, but Pickles' left eye was hugely swollen. I looked again and, no, not his eye! I just looked up "helix aspersa mating" on google images, and they certainly are! Alright, I needa ask some questions. When do the eggs hatch? (IF they hatch) What do you feed them for calcium? I only have eggshells and powdered limestone, I know powdered is good for injuries but is it the best for babies? I need names ^_^ post suggestions of snail names! I am currently sick, but I'll probably need to handle the snails. As they produce a lot of mucus, and if I wash my hands, are they alright with a bit of exposure to human sickness? Thanks, Geckonator. (And Pickles, Baffbot and Penelope )

That's good leila! I've found penelope, the little devil was hiding behind a huge tuft of grass, under the substrate, the whole time! Let's just hope that the banana slug was the same one! =O XD

I agree with coyote, but I was more meaning, just finding it right in your garden. But crushing is humane as well. But it's kind of gross

Please help me! I was looking at Baffbot today, and I turned him over. (he was in his shell at the time) What I saw scared me. A little tiny white creature crawling on him! I blew it off, but I fear for him, and I don't like the sound of those predatory mites to kill the other mites off. OMG I looked at the tank today, and I was upset to see that Penelope, my newest snail, is missing! I don't know how she could have, the tank is very hard to get out of! I'm so upset! Where should I look for her? She has a beautiful shell, I don't want to lose her for good! I've gently looked under the substrate and she wasn't there. I've slowly taken EVERYTHING out of my tank, and she was still not there! I'm really upset! I don't know what to do EDIT: I FOUND HER! =D exactly the same thing happened to me as doris!

Greta, you're in! I know coyote, but, you never know wether they feel or not. And you may argue that crushing them is the most humane thing, but I just think that freezing them is good, because it, for humans, actually just feels like you're falling to sleep. (In a harsh, cold environment ) but yeah, one can argue that.

Yes lousy name, but I'm still thinking!
Anyway, This is a new society I've made up! My friends think im weird, but WHO CARES?
The Snail protection agency (S.P.A) is a small society... protecting snails. We will protect any snail we find, and if a snail is in need, or injured/sick we always look after them.
RULES: 1. You may not kill a snail. 2. You can keep any snail you like, but you don't have to have one. (It boosts points, though) 3. Slugs AND snails are allowed, as they are both in the same group. (gastropoda) 4. Escargot? No thank you! 5. Snails are living creatures; therefore the most humane way to kill them (Only if you have to!) is to put them in the freezer. They feel nothing, and just fall alseep. 6. Remember to make sure your snails have the right environment.
MEMBERS: Greta Friend from school saki114 pennyfarthing Trying to get more people from school! even though it's holidays -.-
CARE: ○ Keep a snail right. If you can't handle them, don't have them. ○ If you need a helping hand, ask another on the forums or in the group!
HOW TO JOIN:
You must vow never to harm snails.
I, NAME, accept that snails are not pests, and are living creatures. I will never deliberately harm a snail in real life and if I find a badly injured one I will put it out of its misery. Snails are delicate creatures, and only the best can care for them.
Read the above properly, and copy&paste into the comments. Remember to include your forum name!
One last thing. I need a website/forum for this. Where can I find one?
EDIT: Coyote told me that crushing is also the most humane thing. Another edit: I made a new poll! Choose which snail you like most!

Ty, 4sticks! I'm planning to make a few more snails, but right now I'm actually painting baffbot's shell And @axoloa Thanks! I feed it calcium, but he's a wild caught. So he won't live much longer, I'm afraid. But I'm going to breed him, on my birthday I'm getting a metre long tank with all the essentials (thermostat, heat pad, etc) so I hope to get more shells like his! I'm going to try to bring albino into the family though =3

I have a pet snail, but he's wild caught. Would this kill out the meningitis that he may have?

I've taught Baffbot, my helix aspersa, to carry small sticks and leaves around in his mouth... That's pretty smart... When I place it in front of him, he picks it up, not eating it, and carries it around. It's just so adorable!

I MAY be able to look after your snail, as long as, if my snail and your snail mate, I send you most of the eggs. I don't have a big enough tank for 600 or so snails. But it's a BIG may. I'll look into it.
