Hi Everyone. I was hoping that someone might be able to help me out identifying the species of my snails. if more pictures are needed i will try and take some more (i tried for one of the shell opening but they didn't want to go in, even when i did gently prod them ;D) I hope someone can help me because i have looked everywhere and can not work out myself, other than they are Albino it would be nice to know what they are so as to learn about my specific species... thank you in advance.... kindest reguards, fran... I'd say Albino Archatina Recticulata (god hope I'm not wrong lol), you said you got them off ebay, were they from a seller called something like Lord Lumpy? If so they are, I got mine from him too

If they are then they grow into great big things! He's got more for sale on a forum at the mo, they are my cockiest snails! Hard to pick up cos they won't put their heads away!

yep, they look like reticulatas to me, also they are Achatina Reticulata, not ARCHachatina, and I have certainly found mine to be a very inquisitive, active snail, tolerant of a fairly wide range of temps and humidities, in fact, mine is definitely much more active than my fulica, I suppose all snails have different personalities though

Thanks Millions Everyone, It's quite strange, I have spent the past few months researching a species called Achatina Achatina - which is what i was led to believe they were. I did wonder though if that was right. So, how big do Achatina Reticulata grow to?... does anybody know... thanks, fran...

Achatina achatina are commonly known as Tigers, you can get albino ones but it's really really rare so I imagine would cost a fortune! Have found a link about recticula for you, they can get to 21cm shell!! www.freewebs.com/kevdavies/achatinareticulata.htmHope it's helpful for you
