i have a fair few snails and can tell most of them apart from the other but im having real trouble identifying 4 of them. Is there anything i can use to mark them on their shell? like marker pen? or a paint of some kind?
What can i use that is safe and wont harm my snail?? and preferably something thats easy to get hold of!
Thanks x

This is an interesting topic that comes up now and again, and I don't think there has been any definitive answer in terms of anything that is guaranteed non-toxic to the snail and also permanent, that I know of.

Im having a bit of the same problem with two of my fulicas, they look pretty much the same and I really cant tell them apart, so one day Smirnoff is Smirnoff, and the other day he is all of a sudden Jägermeister... But I dont really mind, as long as they are healthy xD But I would say that if there is some sort of organic marking color or so you can use, that would probably be the best (dunno if there is such a thing tho, but seeing as some tribes in jungles and such can paint their faces, there ought to be something). But I guess that you then would have to reapply the mark from time to time. I personally wouldnt dare to use anything with chemicals in, due to the risks of poisoning them if they would lick on it or so.
