Two of my tiger snails have died in about a week! The weird thing is, a while ago they didn't have enough humidity or food so they were sealed in their shells a lot. Then I've given them a new home with more heat and humidity so that everything was done "after the book" they had like 29°c and seemed happy. Then they haven't been up eating every night and now i'm afraid that the only one i have left is going to die too! They just retract really deep, seal themselves in and just die really quick it seems. I haven't dared to bury the one that died today because i'm not a 100% sure she is dead, think i will wait for some time. I bathed them and she was retracted and didn't move at all when i touched her. I took the heat away because maybe it was too hot for them. I've changed the substrate and given them new food. How can i keep the lonely snail alive now? I don't think they starved because though they haven't eaten a lot of apple they've had fish flakes too and banana. They love fish flakes and banana

hi
i have had a similar issue with my tigers they are never active and always buried or sealed in there shell, from what ive read and tried myself i would lower the temp to about 23 to 25 and see if this will make them more active sorry to here about your loss but tigers are hard to keep
hope this helps

hi, thanks. It seems that they were most active when the temperature was around 25, so i will try that now. I read that they liked it really hot but maybe that's wrong. The last snail has eaten a little now. Maybe I really shouldn't have bought tigers as my first african snails, but it was the only kind avaliable to buy. I didn't realize they were that hard to care for. I've been looking for fulicas for a while now but there hasn't been any snails for sale in sweden for months.
