Ive just had two more clutches laid this week and im thinking of raising a few up, they were laid today. Ive tried raising five of them befor but sadly it didnt work out so weel for them I was wondering on things like should i take the eggs now and keep them in a safe enviroment, what kind of enviroment and how many i should have.. an ideal number of baby snails for me would be about five but i read somewhere that ones that have hatched can eat the others? o.o And when they have hatched what do i feed them and how do i care for them? :S

Banded snails are Cepea. H. aspersas are brown garden snails. I've raised aspersas, and I leave the eggs in the tank and don't do anything special other than make sure there are 2 different calcium sources in the tank so the snails can choose which one they like best.
Moving the eggs runs the risk of them getting damaged, so I don't move mine. If you have Cepea of Helix, you can let the extra babies loose in the garden and keep the ones you want. I haven't seen any baby snail cannibalism myself. I would imagine only extreme conditions would cause that to happen (no calcium, not enough proper food, etc.), and that is unlikely to happen in a well-tended tank.
