Today I took the first image in link. How about this 'flattness' (partly allso seen on last image too), I have never seen such thing at fuly grown snails. Is this only at Helix or at other snails too, rain related, ... ? agrozoo.net/jsp/Galery.jsp?id_tezaver=17392

There is going to be some natural variation among snail shapes and sizes. The more snails one gets a chance to look at, the more likely it is going to be that one sees these variations.

I believe this has something to do with the snail acquiring minerals from the ground.
