There can be a wide variation in the colors and patterns of H. aspersa shells. One of mine has almost no pattern on it at all, and another one is extensively patterned.
I don't think I've ever seen a bona fide albino-shelled aspersa, but I would imagine the shell would be even paler than the one in that pic.

Beutiful snails, but yes some of them do indeed have plain golden-brown shells. I don't know the ratio of patterned to plain but I don't think the plain are rare. There are quite a few around my way anyhow. Lovely lovely snails though, I find Helix aspersa to be a joy to keep.

i wouldve liked to keep them, but i had some gals coming in the post. so i had to release them due to only having 1 tank and being worried about cross contamination. when i was a little girl i caught a few of these and in a few year there was a few thousand invading the garden lol though id never seen one with a pure golden shell. perhaps the most regrettable wild mollusc i let get away was a pure white 12cm slug...iv never seen anything like it since

Aspersas and GALS have very different temperature requirements, so having them in the same tank is not a good idea anyway.
