I have a lovely little chap for sale. He was sold to me as an Achatina SP but as you can see from his apex (which is blunt not pointed) he is an archachatina. I have tried to get him I'd on here and supersnails and the possibilities are either archachatina sp or achachatina marginata candefacta (which looks almost identicle to him). Unfortunately due to me being away all summer and no reliable snail sitter I'm having to let my snails go as I can't take them with me. Please note I will not post overseas. Please email if interested and make a sensible offer as he is rare and I have no idea what to ask for him. Postage will be £8.00. Thanks Jo ;D

Hi there snailcrazy As you rightly say a blunt apex would indicate he's an Archachatina. The pale shell color, that he's an albino shelled Archachatina. Seems the spire is not red/pink, he's smooth shelled, so indeed that means he is an Archacharina marginata candefacta. I post a pic of a w.c. shell I got of this subspecies from Cameroon. Hope you find him a good home and happy holidays ! Attachments:

Thanks for the info, i've been trying to get him id'd since I got him and his snaily siblings who disappeared misteriously leaving on his own.
Kevin thought he could also be a cadefacta so looked on loads of websites and found he looks identicle to the cadefacta snail so it's nice to eventually give him an id.
