I keep O. alliarius and I follow the basic steps outlined at the link above. I also keep a few leaves in the tank for the snails to hide under. They seem to like the darker places in the tank.
I've found they like fish flakes and soaked pieces of cat kibble (dog kibble may be acceptable as well). I keep mine together with aspersas and other related snails (milk snails, e.g.) and they all get along well. I've seen alliarius feeding on dead snails in the tank but never on living snails. Their long and narrow bodies are well adapted to reaching inside snail shells to feed on carrion.

Hi Greta, I'd be quite interested in seeing pictures of those Trichia striolata. You might also want to research Trochulus striolatus in the web: Trichia is a slime mold, which is why the name had to be changed. Anyway I had found some hairy snails here in the municipal park, which I think to be striolata, but I do not know for sure... Nobody was able to help me As far as I recall, Trichia striolata lives in the leaf litter in humid habitats around bushes. I would say the usual vegetarian diet should work finely, leaves to hide under and enough humidity. I took some photographs today of what I think was a striolata, took it into the kitchen to make the pictures and gave it some oatmeal afterwards, which it seemed to like. Kind regards Robert

Happy to hear that ;D This is the snail posing on some moss: and this is it munching away at its reward... (you can see how small it was - that is my tea cup lid!) Kind regards and good night, Robert
