Two weeks ago, when my mum was going through her hanging basket she found a 'giant snail' she said it was about two inches tall and about one an a half inches wide, and it had the patern on its shell of a garden snail, unfortunatly i never saw the sanil and as wondering whether it may just be a new growing size of garden snails, or a diffrent thing altoghether or it was just normal. Also in my tank at the momnet are about 6 clutchs of eggs and i am happy to say 3 of them hae hatched and the babies are growing quite quickly

I wonder if the snail could have been a Helix pomatia? They look like giant garden snails.

Take a look at some of the images here. There is a variety of shell patterns to be seen. It's also possible the snail could be a Helix aspersa maxima.
