Hello everyone
I recently acquired a giant african land snail and we're getting on great. He's called Gary and is very friendly. I was quite surprised by how curious he is! Defo very fond of him. Anyway this is day 3 of me having him and I just have a few questiosn about stuff.
Firstly he ate ate loads on day 1 - like he munched non stop, but has slowed down a bit now and mainly grazes on his cuttlefish. Is this normal? Do they eat now and again?
Secondly, today when he was out, I tried to offer him a strawberry which he wasn't interested in, but when I squeezed the juice out for him, he loved it and sucked it up. Is strawberry juice ok for him? He seems to love it!
Any advice, greatly appreciated. I'm keeping him moist and spraying reguarly.

Congrats on your new snail. It is normal for them to eat now and again. My snails seem to eat a lot one day, a little less the following day and nothing at all for a day or two after that, even when the amount of food offered is the same. It's okay for a snail to go for a few days without eating anything, as long as it goes back to eating normally again later on. Strawberry juice is fine for him.
