brought a snail home with me from the pavement.....is it wrong to keep her? she is in her own tank and happy as can be with some lettuce. i want her to stay but would let her go if its unfair to keep her here.

If she seems to do fine I don't see anything wrong with it. Many of us keep wild cought snails, so it's not unusual. She might like some company though. What species is she? Remember to feed her other food than just lettuce, and give her some sort of calcium source too. I would love to see some pictures!

It's so sad to see crushed snails. Last year I saw many, many snails crushed, it was that kind of year when it was a lot of snails - but still, why can't people see where they put their feet? I'm sure she'll enjoy living with you. ^^ Congrats on your new little friend.

It's okay to keep your garden snail, as long as you do not keep it with a GALS, as GALS need might higher temperatures than local snails, and your little guy will be way too hot in a GALS tank.

Yes, her tank will need spraying. Doh, I just saw a typo in my above post. It should say "GALS need much higher temperatures," not "might higher temperatures." I really should proofread before hitting Post.
