B & Q have a great choice in plastic boxes. I got one from there which has a lid which has a hinge in the middle SO you only have to lift one side & it's got a small gap down the middle, which makes an airhole. I got 2 smaller tubs from tesco & they've got small vents either, perfect for airflow. B&M do 2 very large boxes for £10 and poundland have a good range. I prefer plastic storage boxes Cos they are large & you can make them look really cool for Snails & they are big enuff for Margies & Tigers to stretch their Foot. They are light to handle which is great when it's cleaning time & easy to wipe to tidy up poo's & slime. They may not be as attractive as a tank.......but the Snails don't mind

I have several boxes similar to the first one that myrtle describes that I use for Tortoise pens for the smaller torts (minus the lid of course). They are only 70L but are more like 111 x 60 x 15 so would give you more surface area. I'm pretty sure I got them at Target (do you have that in the U.K.?). I don't remember the cost, but it was minimal. They are described as under-the-bed totes. I have also had people suggest Christmas tree storage totes, which I believe are slightly larger. A lot of these come in both clear and semi-opaque (which is what I have). Clear is hard to find in extremely large sizes, but I guess otherwise you couldn't see your snails without removing the lid, so that would be less than ideal. Good luck in your search.

I'm sure I wrote reply here but it seems to have disappeared... I must be going mad...
Anyway, I have a big storage box for my snails. I got it in a poundland-type shop (was £6.99), they had loads of different sizes. It's not completely transparent, but it's good enough and would rather give my snails lots of room for £7 than spend £50 on a smaller, glass tank! So, pound shops and cheap hardware stores are your best bet I reckon.

Thank you, guys. I am going to B&Q in a couple of days to see, what they got. I also prefer plastic boxes to glass tanks. They are easy to clean and move from one room to another, if you want your snails always close
