I rescued an Aspersa last week with a very badly damaged shell. Ive called her Gwynivere and she's been doing very well.....till today. Ive just sprayed her tank and was Shocked to hear a splatt sound, it was her minus shell falling off the lid. She was fine this morning SO not sure how long she's been like this I have put her in a very small pot with lettuce, cuttlebone and fishflakes and keep spraying her........one can only hope

That is bad.... I hope she'll be all right until she grows her shell back; just keep feeding her enough calcium & make sure you keep the temperature high/low enough so she'll not freeze/swelter to death.... after all, she doesn't hav much of a shell. You can also try using plaster of paris to try to mend her shell; just dont kill her. here's a link: www.petsnails.co.uk/problems/broken-shell.html Good Luck!!!!!!

Her shell has totally fallen off? If so they kindest thing to do is put her to sleep as they need their shell and can't regrow a whole new one

Yes her Shell has completely come off in one whole piece. I've checked on her and she tried to climb on my hand & gave me a rasp.......I think she's telling me enuff is enuff. I'm devastated as she is my 1st loss. I'm so glad I found her & her last days were full of love & fuss, sweetpotato, cucumber & fishflakes.

I decided the kindest thing for Gwyn was to put her to sleep. She had started to struggle. I've popped her in freezer with a piece of lettuce SO she has a snack with her when she reaches the bridge. She won't be forgotten & I'm glad her last moments were with love dignity. RIP Gwynivere x

I'm so sorry for your loss. But you did the right thing. There is no way to recover from coming out of the shell. It was very kind of you to try to rescue her, and Gwyn will always have a place in your heart.
Rest in peace, Gwyn.
