Both snails on the picture look like retics, but photos are not great quality. Very pretty snails though.

She is lovely but my Jades have a rich brown striped shell I have only seen my own though no other Jades to compare them with

So you all think she's a Retic then?? She's a very beautiful snail, prettier than my 2 retics, but really needed a white jade fulica

The person I got her from says she can't be a Retic as she got her from a breeder at a trade show and because she's more reddish than my retics...?

Really hope she is Fulica! But she's a gorgeous snail and wouldn't really mind her being Retic, Im sure my 2 guys wouldn't mind her joining them haha

The person you got her from sadly doesnt know what shes talking about and has been misinformed by the original trader - fulica are distinctly different, shell base colour, texture, shape. That is Achatina reticulata. For comparison, a similarly sized Achatina fulica jade.

I thought she looked the same! She's got the same shell texture, the markings are pretty much the same and she's the same colour as my other retic. Just was hoping she was a white jade oh well, I dont suppose Gary and Yuki will mind her moving in with them haha!

Yes, i agree with Copigeon. I have an albino fulica and he looks similar to last picture and nothing at all like your snails. However i wouldn't give her back to the trader, she is beautiful and i am sure you will take great care of her

Both snails in your pics are retics. From the 4th whorl onwards their shell has a wrinkled appearance, fulica are more smooth. The pattern is different in the 2 species. Ask your supplier for some eggs to hatch. ( Answer : retics are oviparous - they don't lay eggs, they give birth to live young. Fulis lay eggs that hatch to be young snails ). because she's more reddish than my retics : your first pic ( retic on left and "so-called white jade" on right ) : where's the REDDISH ?

Not entirely true brunni - I have heard of oviparous retics with hobbiests in germany, but the majority in the UK lay ova.

one of my retics is very dark (the one in the pics with her), whereas she and the other one are reddish in comparison. i dont mind too much and I intend to keep her as she is a beautiful snail! Does mean i'm once again on the look out for another white jade fulica though

@ copigeon OK I can go along with that, the book where I got the info was talking about wc retics. Seems cb GALS can change their habits ( e.g. not aestivate ) so why not with this egg thing ? I would imagine wc retics became oviparous to reduce infant mortality ?

Last year I'm pretty sure I had a live young rectic not an egg, I totally cleaned out the tank then 2 days later found a baby, sadly it had drowned in a bit of water though Back to topic, I'd say rectic but a lovely rectic

I'd say retic. Although the shell looks a little smoother it still looks like it has retic texture and pattern.
