Yes lousy name, but I'm still thinking!
Anyway, This is a new society I've made up! My friends think im weird, but WHO CARES?
The Snail protection agency (S.P.A) is a small society... protecting snails. We will protect any snail we find, and if a snail is in need, or injured/sick we always look after them.
RULES: 1. You may not kill a snail. 2. You can keep any snail you like, but you don't have to have one. (It boosts points, though) 3. Slugs AND snails are allowed, as they are both in the same group. (gastropoda) 4. Escargot? No thank you! 5. Snails are living creatures; therefore the most humane way to kill them (Only if you have to!) is to put them in the freezer. They feel nothing, and just fall alseep. 6. Remember to make sure your snails have the right environment.
MEMBERS: Greta Friend from school saki114 pennyfarthing Trying to get more people from school! even though it's holidays -.-
CARE: ○ Keep a snail right. If you can't handle them, don't have them. ○ If you need a helping hand, ask another on the forums or in the group!
HOW TO JOIN:
You must vow never to harm snails.
I, NAME, accept that snails are not pests, and are living creatures. I will never deliberately harm a snail in real life and if I find a badly injured one I will put it out of its misery. Snails are delicate creatures, and only the best can care for them.
Read the above properly, and copy&paste into the comments. Remember to include your forum name!
One last thing. I need a website/forum for this. Where can I find one?
EDIT: Coyote told me that crushing is also the most humane thing. Another edit: I made a new poll! Choose which snail you like most!

This is an interesting concept. It's good to have advocates for snails on the Internet. I have some questions about point #5, though. There is a lot of debate about how much a snail actually feels when places in the freezer. There is more than one thread on this forum about that very subject. So I'm not sure that such a statement of fact can be made. One rainy night I accidentally stepped on a snail outside. In that instance, the most humane way to deal with the severely injured snail was to crush it there on the spot, and not bring it back home to put it in the freezer. So there are scenarios where freezing is really not the most humane thing to do.

Greta, you're in! I know coyote, but, you never know wether they feel or not. And you may argue that crushing them is the most humane thing, but I just think that freezing them is good, because it, for humans, actually just feels like you're falling to sleep. (In a harsh, cold environment ) but yeah, one can argue that.

I think what coyote is getting at realy is that if a snail is badly damaged and in pain, then crushing it as soon as you find it will put it out of its missery right away, while carrying it home to freze it would mean the snail remaining in pain thrugh the journey and then however long it does take for it to "fall asleep" in the freezer If you live say 10 minuites away from where you found the snail, and decided to freez it, then thats 10 minuits longer that the snails kept in pain (20 when you consider that it would probabaly take 10 minuites or more for a creature that size to die from the freezing).

I agree with coyote, but I was more meaning, just finding it right in your garden. But crushing is humane as well. But it's kind of gross

Oh, and by the way (for point # 5 ) I will try to follow that, except if family wakes up to get some snack in freezer and screams......not my fault

Online. A third of the people here are Aussie, a third English, and a few Americans, with a few other races. It'd be hard rounding them all up XD
