Hello all,
I'm looking for a couple of large, active land snails -- the species really doesn't matter: helix aspersas or helix pomatia, for example. I'm located in NY, USA. My email is kcoyne@warwick.net Please note that I am willing to travel several hundred miles to pick up the snails. Thanks for reading this.

Hi, I don't get out of NY state very often. My email is: kcoyne@warwick.net and my postal address is: ************************ USA. What did you have in mind? Modified: Please accept my apologies for deleting the address from your post. this may be a temporary thing while I ask what to do about having it up there for all to see. Safety rules generally advise against putting your personal details up openly on sites hence me removing it. People generally pass their addresses to others by PM (private message) Regards - Ness

Is it really wise to post your address on a public forum?

Is it really wise to post your address on a public forum? Id have to agree, its better to use caution and keep your adress to the PM's sent directly to those who require it to send you something. Its up to you though realy if you take the risk or not Im sure no one on this forum poses any threat but you should always bare in mind that when similar words are searched by googlers, they can easily be led dirctly to threads on this and other forums thrugh their search, so its not only forum users who have the chance to see your adress..

the phone book is full of complete names and addresses, by the millions. unless he has a specific reason not to be found or bothered, everyone walking past his residence everyday knows his address and who he is. no one trolls for victims merely caring about their addresses, though I'd never post mine publicly. now at least everyone on the forum who wants to, and indeed as you just pointed out Axoloa can post him snails if they are shy and wish to anonymously. making sure while doing so of course they are following the laws in their area. (and it is perfectly legal to mail snails within the same state, it just isn't between states or certain states.) unfortunately, the weather has taken a turn for the colder. where it was 55 degree days we are now 28 F and with highs of 36 and below for the week. only snails in hibernation would probably be comfortable for the trip. the good thing is though shipping in hibernation is probably one of the safest and most comfortable means of shipping snails I would think. sorta like taking a trip, falling asleep in the car and waking up at the family vacation spot. course not all snails hibernate so well.
As for what I had in mind...well nothing of course. I figured I'd mention it to people I know (though I do not know them well.) and not sure at all, what they may do or not, but it couldn't hurt.

You're probably right about posting the address -- I'm new to forums and obviously have a lot to learn.
