The amount of Ladybugs that are around at the moment? I just counted 12 while I was outside having a cigarette, and yesterday I counted 27 while I was outside with the guinea pigs!?!

I saw a giant one this morning. Not huge, but big enough to see that it was a ladybird while looking at it from my patio doors. It was on our bird house, at least 2 meters away from where I was standing.

Just put out a harlequin ladybird that was in the window. They are big! I'll bet that was what I saw the other day.
Springwatch said that this species is killing off our native ladybirds (because they eat more than our species) but Gardener's World says these ladybirds are fine and not to kill them. Not sure whether this is merely from a gardener's point of view or a naturalist's one.

I've seen a few, but we are in Newcastle, and up until two days ago, it's been really bloomin' cold!

I am starting to see them everywhere when I am out with the dogs, I wanted to fix the fence yesterday but put it off as there were several ladybirds on it. Lovely little things!

There is a ladybird bloom due to the extreme dry conditions. Most of us know that ladybugs are good insects. They have a long-standing reputation of ridding garden and crops from insect pests, especially aphids. In medieval Europe, people believed the ladybug was divinely sent from heaven to protect crops. They called it the “Bug of Our Lady,” a reference to the Virgin Mary. Over time, the name was shortened to ‘ladybug.’lancaster.unl.edu/pest/resources/asialadybeetle.shtml
