anyone else experienced this, had them around 6 months and they are a good 4 inches shell length which i presume means they are old enough to breed, just not seen any sign of breeding or eggs :S any ideas ?

well, I have thought about this a lot. One way is to mimic seasonal changes properly, so switching from 11/13 light/dark to 13/11 and increasing humidity and heat. So they think it is breeding time.
The other is to separate them and then reintroduce them, I've been wondering about this for a while and then Arno has had tiger eggs not long after he got a new tiger. Catherine got eggs not long after she got the new tigers. Perhaps there is something in it.

look at the price of it will go find the wild variety.lol can try the splittin gup, ment to be getting a few more custom made tanks made up so can split them up, prefer them in groups of three, got all 6 sharign a massive tank at the minute, just due to lack of decent tanks avail, hence the custom made ones. they seem to have fun alltogether though.lol more active then they used to be.

Yeah, plus I think they'd have to be kept alone rather than in small groups. You'll be setting up a snail stud farm As for the Wild oats, surely you can get hold of seeds, that's all it is, ground up. I've just found a company that sells it ground up quite cheap. But they are trade only, I'll see if I can get hold of a bag through work. Worth a dabble and it's a healthy food also. paul

my margies are 3 years old now and have never laid eggs, surely that's just ridiculous!?!?!?!?
Any ideas? Sterile snails? Do I have to resort to the Barry White cds?
Brian.

I don't think Margies breed all that often, not like fulica do. I could be wrong, but thats what I thought.

well if you introduce two snails that have never met before then it is more likely they will breed

Some breed and lay freely and the eggs hatch fine. Others just don't seem interested. I don't think anyone knows why yet.

rofl, well it's like if you have 2 or 3 or whatever amount of snails for a long time and then you suddenly introduce a new one it kind of sets them of and your likely to get eggs :-)
