Would it be possible for a 6cm Fulica to breed with a 8cm Fulica or is that too bigger size? x Sarah x

Fredrik had a 5 or 6 cm panthera lay eggs that hatched so perhaps they could be mature enough, do they have the little hole/lump on the side of their necks?
As for compatibility in size, you'd think the size difference would be a problem but I wouldn't be surprised if they managed it, afterall, other animals do.

Well, they're obviously mature then, I think snails pick compatible sizes in the wild because they have choice, and animals often pick similar sized mates or traits because they have the genes in them that prefer that type, having come from a pairing by snails that were successful in choosing each other.
So, a female bird may choose a male with a long tail because she herself contains the genes that give males long tails, coming from a lineage of birds who chose that characteristic as good mating criteria.
In captivity they may just give it a whirl, or perhaps the smaller one will catch up before the larger one is interested. But, snails are prolific so you'd think there is a good chance.
