sorry for such a silly post but............. do you need 2 snails to breed? reason i ask is my sis has had 1 snail for about 18months and he/she has just had the 2nd batch of eggs

not always snails have been known to fertalise themselves, doesn't happen much but is possible :-)

its not a silly question,
with large snails you need 2 to breed, but snails can store sperm for many many months after mating.
tiny tiny snails can self-fertilise.

he probably mated before he was sold at the car boot. although it is an unusually long time for them to store sperm.

i think its fulucia(sp?) it had over 100 eggs each time, tiny white ones like the ones i had
