Do you want me to sit in the corner and rust, or just fall apart where I'm standing?

I checked my pancake slugs last night, and they often do this, but they lie together top to tail. Why? Are they mating/ about to mate?

I often find four or five adults laying on top of each other, but upside down on the underside of their bark cover, and the babies are laying in piles as well!

These are just two, and they lay next to each other, top to tail. so it makes kind of a circle.
