they probably dont, but do snails need to mate to have eggs? or can they lay unfertilised ones like hens do. my 6cm fulica just laid two

they can lay fertile eggs without mating sometimes so i think it's highly likely they can lay unfertilised one too

According to Hodasi (1979), yes.
"Reproduction is often by self-fertilization and oviposition occurs in the second and third years and sometimes up to five years after the first oviposition year.

wow i thought it was only little species.
so if someone got a single fulica they could still get babies. but surely not as much as if there were 2 snails?
