Lisa's fulica that is from the same batch as Keith has laid two batches of eggs since she got him. Keith is a little shorter in shell length (by mms) and a fair bit "fatter" in shell width but has never laid eggs. Is this a sign of poor care or normal? Neither are fully grown, they're about 9cms.
I'm just a bit concerned because none of mine have laid eggs yet (although the others are babies apart from Sherman and he doesn't have a margie girlfriend so that's understandable).

Late development? I mean Keith's just probably mature a bit later than Lisa's. (I am just using my sense even it usually does not work as I am pretty dumb.) I don't think it's poor care at all. I have got 4 Fulicas and 2 of them and they are from the same batch. 2 of them are slightly bigger and they have not laid any eggs while the other 2 have done about 3 times already. I think Keith will do so when he is ready.

Thanks - that's a relief. It definitely makes sense! Him and Jethro (the weird albo/fulica/whatever) and him are inseparable at the mo, and we keep thinking Keith's burying to lay eggs but nope. Maybe he's on the Pill ;D

isn't that a good thing though, most of us dream of keeping castrated fulica, lol
