Hello , At present I have my three apple snails in a 1 gallon Betta tank as I was unprepared when my sweet nephew brought the snails home. And I had the tank already so I have them in that for now. What would be the best size of tank for three apple snails? vallery

I have noticed that my tank clouds up terribly within three days. So cloudy I can barely see the snails in the tank. I have followed directions I have read to top up the water every day by removing some of the old water and putting in the fresh which doesn't seem to be helping with the cloudiness of the water. They are still very active. And in the short while I have had them my Gold Apple ( Goldie) has grown very large very fast, the other two have stayed the same size. Which I also find odd as she and Frank were the two smallest. I will get a photo to show the difference in their sizes now. Cleaning the tank completely too often I believe would remove too much of the algae the snails eat. I am worried because I have noticed that they must surface for air and use their snorkels more then they do when the water is clearer instead of using there gills. Does this happen with others tanks that keep aquatic snails? They seem to really poop a lot. They consume any algae chips or fish flakes in no time. I am wondering if the cloudiness is caused from there poop. I have stopped putting any vegetables in since they won't eat them. So this isn't the problem. vallery

I'm currently keeping my 2 baby blue apples in a 1 gallon tank, but will have to get a larger one soon as the rule of thumb is 2.5 gallons per adult snail I believe

Thank you Evil Angel , Looks like I will be getting a bigger tank. If I get a 10 gallon I could probably get one more snail ;D. I would love to have a blue one. can you post photos of yours? I would love to see them. vallery
